I love ponies. I have a Highland x who is 16.3, but thinks, rides and looks like a big pony.

Anybody object to me being an honorary adult who rides a pony?

How many other adults ride ponies and which types?

They a fantastic, clever, can get themselves out of trouble (mostly) dont need a lot to eat, cheeky and entertaining. They can turn their hooves to anything.

If you're being judged for suitability can I jump on this post and get OH and my sister judged too?

Tom is 16hh by Philip Pembroke out of a welsh pony mare

and he definitely thinks he's a pony (when he's not thinking he's human of course)!

I'm an adult (21) and have a 14.2 pba. I've had him for coming up to 9 years and he will never be sold (thus I will never be able to afford a horse!). I'm 5'9 and 9 1/2 stone but he is built like a true hunter pony and carries me fine. In an ideal world I'd have a horse as I'm on the tall side for him, but untill I win the lottery it won't happen, and I could never sell him - he is my horse (pony) of a lifetime!

Every adult should ride a pony, or a horse that feels like one IMO!

can I add to your list:

They a fantastic, far too clever for their own good , can get themselves out of trouble (mostly) and in to trouble and you in to trouble dont need a lot to eat thought they beg to differ , cheeky and entertaining and damn infuriating at times . They can turn their hooves to anything. when they feel like it

I'm 36 and have 5 ponies
smile.gif
I ride 3 of them (one doesn't get ridden cos of an old tendon injury

and one doesn't get ridden cos she is only 8hh

) The ones I ride are 14.1hh mini TB type, a 13.2hh New Forest pony and a 13hh Welsh/Haflinger type.

I'm an adult and I own/owned New Forest ponies. I absolutely adore them, they are fun, versatile and so willing. I wouldn't own another breed now I don't think, I enjoy ponies too much

I am a 5ft 8 adult and before I bought my warmblood I had a connemara on loan and have really only had natives! See my post above - horses are complicated!! I do miss a bit of old fashioned pony squishing

I have a 14.1 Mini Cob, he has a horses body and pony legs, he is so cool, totally reliable out hacking, can turn his hoof to most things, and can be a typical pony when he wants, but rides more like a horse. I love him and would never go back to anything bigger.

I agree with ester's additions to the list! I have a 15hh Welsh D (14.2hh when I bought her, so she'll always be a pony to me!) and I adore her to bits.

i also have a welsh, shes 14.2hh and this sums her up perfectly

I am 22, 5ft7 & 9st.

I have a 13.1/13.2h ish mare (I measured her at 13.1h, but looking at her today I'm sure shes a little taller than that) who is 17, and absolutly fab!!!

I also have her daughter who will mature at about 14h/14.2h.

Here are my baby girls.

Littlest one, who is 18 months now

I have a New Forest ( well, we have 3, one mine, one my daughter's and one sort of retired! )

I love riding mine, he is fun, sure footed, hardy, I dont need a ladder to get a rug on him, not so far to fall .....
grin.gif

lol, dont let him hear you say that JoBo
tongue.gif

Sprout, fingers crossed I haven't fallen off Gimley yet
blush.gif

He's been broken since beginning of summer, Ive only fallen off Bear twice in 3 years. And Buddie once in 8 years
