Had a new associate starting this beautiful sunny saturday morning for their advanced driving so we went out into the countryside around Anstey, Bradgate Park and Rothley in Leics

We came across loads of cyclists walkers and horse riders on the roads

Slow to 2nd gear speed well before we got to them and a nice 'thank you nod' from EVERY horse rider :):):):)

We nodded back as well

Thank you for the nice post and for being aware that horses aren't machines! I always try to smile, even if horsey is misbehaving! One little request though - sometimes drivers are a bit too careful and drive past so slowly the horse can get a bit worried 'cos it thinks it's being stalked!

Briskly when going passed is what we did when safe to do so without a lot on the rev counter - same for meetingthose coming towards us

Between 15 and 20 is usually the norm in 2nd gear on a standard 5 speed manual box
