Adverse reaction to vaccine

Yes a pinyon the yard I worked on last year. He had mild colic and some sort of mental episode duri g the colic where he jumped his stable door and ran to yard owners front door but fella the jump and ripped his bottom lipoid, I'm now not vaccinating for flu just tet

Yes. My horse suffered a worse reaction every time. The last (and final!) time resulted in full blown flu symptoms lasting over 4 months. He's been left with profound RAO, exercise intolerance and worsened sweet itch. This is a horse that was fit and healthy, now he's a walking vet's bill.

Yes earlier this year. Because it's not a sterilised site, it's difficult to know whether it's the vaccine itself or dirt getting in that causes a reaction. My girl ended up with a massive deep routed abscess that required a few days in vet hospital. She's fine now although she's got scar from procedure and some muscle wastage.

Yep, my girl had a reaction to it last year. Chest very swollen and sore, stiff through her front legs, and generally unwell. Vet thought it was a reaction to the carrier in it. He'd seen a couple of cases. She's fine now.

I've had this as well. Huge swelling on chest, very stiff and sore, but otherwise not unwell. Vet gave steroid and I didn't pay for any of it. Luckily the horse was able to have a couple of weeks off to get over it. As above, my vet said it was the carrier used, so we changed to a different brand of vaccine and no further probs.

A horse belonging to a friend of mine had an awful reaction to a flu jab. She was injected on her bum, and it ended up coming out in big gooey abscesses and she was really ill. She's now got a big scar on her quarters from it but otherwise is healthy. She was out of action all winter.

Not too sure of the ins and outs of it as i wasn't on the yard all winter.
