I am selling my project pony soon and seeing as Ive never sold a horse before could do with some advice re an advert. I am very aware a decent advert is very necessary in current climate.

Ok so:

Safe - mothers dream 13 hh gelding.
Buddy is the perfect childs pony – great in traffic, catch, load, farrier, clip.
Snaffle mouth and SAFE easy ride – hacks alone or in company front or back of ride.
No vices. He is a great pony for a novice or will take a more experienced rider further.
Schooled and done SJ, XC. 5 years old.
Fantastic all rounder PC pony.
Price (undecided yet!)

I then was going to add a confo shot, a decent jumping one and schooling or hacking on road pic.

Any thoughts - empahasis is really on the safe, any bodies ride bit. He is also capable of carrying a small adult should I include that?

Sounds a fab advert - do you have one in a 15hh version too?!! Might be worth adding what he is like standing around being petted and groomed - as his is a childs pony it would be good to know that he tollerates children working around him - some just don't have the patience and temperment for it! My only concern would be how much he has done at what appears to be a rather young age and how consistent his good temperment would be at 5. Sounds a really fab chap though!

thanks for your thoughts - hes very patient and loves fuss/grooming etc , good pint to put that in.
He hasnt actually done THAT much. I bought him at 2, lightly backed him at 3 - long reining mostly, he was turned away for winter till 4.
He was then slowly brought back into work and tbh has mainly hacked, lightly schooled and popped over a few jumps. He has a VERY easy winter due to snow and now as a 5 year old is being schooled more jumping and XC.

In that case it might be more honest if you put "Will make fantastic all rounder" rather than saying that he is one already.

Can you get a young rider on him to take him to PC rallies etc? That will make a difference to his price and also, provided he behaves beautifully, expose him to a larger market, especially if you then advertise him through the PC newsletter and on the website.

He sounds lovely!

I would start with height, age and breed/type, so

13hh, 5 year old, (type) gelding
Safe and sensible, Buddy is the perfect child's pony.

Suitable for a novice rider, hacks along or in company, first or last, great in traffic, catch, load farrier and clip. Has been schooled SJ and XC and can work in a nice outline so also suitable for the more experienced rider to take further. Will make a super PC pony.
