Just looking at Horsequest - and really irritated by ads that don't say where the horse is (mobile number only) and don't say how much they want. It bugs me, does it bug you? in fact it puts me off calling...

Yes, they reckon it puts loads of perspective buyers off when you put POA but yet people still do it. When i was looking i just didn't bother when those ads so it is true. I certainly wouldn't want to phone to ask where they were! Thats just lazy not outting an area on the ad.

It really put me off when I was looking, I didn't have a big search area so I didn't bother enquiring about ones with no location. If no price I just assumed they were too expensive!

Wouldn't stop me enquirying if I really liked the horse although I can understand why it would put people off

Yep puts me off to. Also when they put "OFFERS" because what if the owner thinks its worth thousands you try it and think you think its only worth a couple of hundred. Do you think it would upset/offend the owner?

I personally think that it is the job of the seller to make their advert as attractive as possible and by not putting on a price or a location, they are not giving enough information. I am not prepared to travel to the other end of the country but I would be happy to travel into next county! Equally I don't want to be embarassed when I ring the vendor to hear an extortionate sale price. I do think people put on POA to sound exclusive. It is difficult enough to sell horses without playing games

POA sellers = chancers!!! most if you do ring they flannel and try talk up what there selling, then they try to get you to make an offer or give you a stupid price... dealers try the oh we sold that one but we have a simaler but better one at the moment...

Being as I'm currently horse hunting, yes it's mega irritating!!Why should people waste their time and money phoning to find out that the horse is other end of country or mega bucks.............grrr

Did actually phone one last week where the price was just left blank..........£16, 000!!! I nearly died, horse was very nice but not worth that much IMHO.

So annoys me!

Why should I spend my money on a phone call to ask how much or where they are??

Also annoys me that Horsequest don't insist people put whereabouts they are!

I disagree and don't mind those ads as, living in Scotland, I've always had to travel to find the right horse or ponies. I also don't put a location in my ad as people are put off by being in Scotland but if they call it gives me the chance to "sell" the horse as they tend to ask once they've gone to the trouble of phoning up.
