Thinking seriously about selling Polly for various reasons - mainly that although I love her to bits, I don't think she and I will ever have the same riding goals... I'm quite serious about flatwork/schooling in preparation for dressage and jumping/BE eventing whilst she just wants to race round doing lots of hunter trials, hunting and SJ jumps offs! There is nothing wrong with her but she is just too 'heady' to settle to serious dressage stuff. Plus I don't think she will ever be 100% over any height above 3'6 with me riding, she has the ability but lacks the confidence and I don't have the experience to help her. BUT that said, she would be a super PC/RC horse for someone wanting to win at unaffiliated level, have fun and not do too much flatwork... I'm thinking a teenage boy perhaps? or a young adult looking for an easy to keep, wizzy horse that won't ever do anything dangerous but will be always be exciting to ride! I've had her two years and never even come close to coming off her (other than one time when she slipped out HT and we both sat down on the ground). She is safe has houses but she isn't boring - she'll give you the odd cheeky buck or a spook to keep you on your toes but nothing unseating or scarey. I wanted to word the advert so people got the idea that she is pretty strong and firey with a big personality but that she ISNT a nutter - she never tries to deck you, rodeos or shoots off or anything like that... what do you think? also is the price about right or too ambitious?

Very pretty Welsh x TB mare. 12yrs. Super jumping horse. Loves Hunter Trials/XC, jumps ditches, water, banks etc - never stops. Currently competing succesfully uaffiliated SJ up to 3', very fast against the clock. Would BSJA. Forward going but nicely schooled on the flat, established lateral work and basic outline, snaffled mouthed (except XC). 100% in traffic, hunted this season, proved keen but sensible. Done many RC activites: SJ team, rallies, fun rides, dressage etc. Good to shoe/box/clip etc, no vices. A lively forward going ride who is fizzy but safe and sane! Would suit a confident teen/small adult looking for a fun, fast RC/PC horse to enjoy. Easy to keep, hardy little horse, lives in or out - very low maintenence. Would not suit a nervous or novice rider/handler. Some tack and rugs included. £3650 OIRO
 
Oh, forgot to add that. She is only 15.2hh

not a popular height and she is very small in the girth and leggy so looks smaller.
thanks for the vote of confidence though, I am really sad to make this decision but I realised that I was going up to the yard to ride Polly and ending up doing her as quick as possible so I could have time to ride my boss' youngsters. Seems crazy to pay to keep a horse when I am happier and more interested riding someone else's for free!

What she wants is a horse to do fun rides and RC stuff with. She is an accomplished rider. Only thing is she CANNOT ride everyday - 3 - 5 times a week max - would Polly deal with that OK?
 
As long as she had plenty of turn out she would be fine. Over the summer I rode her about 5 times a week max and she was great. She is the sort of horse that you could leave in the field and take out once a week to go SJ and then chuck back out again if you so wished! She LOVES being out in the field

Part of my problem is that we have no winter turn out and Polly just gets really frustrated living in 24/7 and then becomes very excitable and strong in the school. I get frustrated because I want her to practice working in an outline/doing all the dressage stuff (which I KNOW she is capable of) and she just wants to trot and canter round and round being excited! She doesn't do anything nasty, at worst the occasional spook, but she pulls a lot and then I get cross which is my problem really, not hers.
 
She might make a lovely PC tetrathlon horse if she is patient enough to stand to open gates or be dismounted to negotiate a slip rail in a XC course. Might be worth advertising her on PC classifieds if that is the case.
