Okay, I ma trying to write an advert as we are selling Sparky - a littole sooner than expected but he is going well now *touch wood* and we feel ready to make someone else happy!
I have looked on horsequest (where we are advertising) and there are so many styles and I don't know which one to use. So my question is, what info would you want? what pictures would you want? and what would catch your eye in an advert etc?
Thanks

A nice full body one, a jumping one/flatwrk one and one where you can see his best talet if you get me.
info, just age, height, his good points, what rider hed suit, what hes done/doing. Keep it short and sweet, dont write too mcuh or people just get switched off.
Bless Sparkyyy

I would prefer to see a conformational shot as the main picture- Well shot, no tack. A nice flat work shot- In trot preferably and a jump shot- Coloured poles if being sold as a show jumper, XC fence if as an eventer.

Start by giving the basic first- Size, sex and breed

Try and be as succinct as possible. People tend to breeze over long sentences.

when i was looking to buy, if an ad was short and sweet i got the impression of couldnt be ar*ed, but if ad was too long, it seemed to be full of useless info, id go for an ad of something in between that gives essential info.

i'm always attracted by the main picture if it is doing flat/jumping, as there are so many on horsemart that aren't ridden in an outline or owners dont jump them. after clicking on the advert i agree with everyone else, a flat photo, a jump one and a full length one with no tack :-) good luck in selling!!

Yeh I agree - on horsequest where you see only one main picture I'd be more drawn in by a nice jumping/flatwork pic, then when I click to see more a side-one conformation shot then either jumping/flatwork depending on what you used as a main picture.
