Advice about learning to tow

Hi i am am just wanting to check i can practice towing my trailer if i have L plates on the car and trailer, and someone who passed their test before 1997 with me? is this correct?
There seems to be an awful lot of contradictory information out there

yep definitely fine. Granny rights towing instructors are still ok, Granny rights for lorry instructors are no good anymore!
