Thank you for reading this thread! It's prob. been done before but can't find it as am hopeless at these things:( So hoping someone can help! Bit long, sorry

Anyway, new arena has equestrian silica sand correctly laid and the usual inch or so of rubber chunks laid on top and harrowed in. Graded/harrowed regularly.

It was fab at first but the dry spell has taken it's toll and all around the track it rides loose, even now since we have had lots of rain and while it's still damp. Think it may have gotten churned up while too dry and so it's different from the rest of the arena. Not good for horses.

Answer seems to be to add in fiber, but which one? Did it work? Do I need to sort the tracked area out first and if so how, or will it correct when fiber harrowed and rotovated in.

Sorry to ask so many questions but have lost faith in the suppliers etc.

Wish someone would do a proper survey on this

'Lo! Can't help much either as our yard school is wood chip, but it might be worth your while posting this again on the Competition Riders board here... :)

I know you say you're losing faith in the suppliers, but surely the best thing to do would be to talk to the company who laid it? They'll be best placed to advise on how to take care of it. After all, they don't want to get a bad name from dissatisfied customers.

This will prob be no help what so ever but we have used the fiber. Our sand was to deep so was told to add fiber but it didn't work and always seemed to clump up in places and wouldn't Harrow in. Very disapointed with it and still have a load chucked in corner off barn.
