It was confirmed last night that my cob has the early stages of laminitis. I hope I've caught it early enough so he's now on box rest. The vet has told me to feed soaked hay but he's not eating this as he's been on haylage over the winter and feels very hard done to at having to eat hay!! He didnt touch it last night and I dont like leaving him with nothing. Any tips of feeding laminitics? Come to that, any tips on dealing with laminitics in general? Thanks in advance!

Tbh, I do think you need to persevere with the soaked hay I'm afraid. Did you rinse it?
Have a look at this site and there is a yahoo group run by the same lady. She has a diet sheet she sends out for laminitics. http://www.metabolichorse.co.uk/

I also recommend Jaime Jacksons book 'Founder, prevention and cure, the natural way'.

If he is that hungry he will eat the hay, please whatever you do, do not feed Haylage again to him. I would recommend contacting a feed specialist and asking for advice on what to feed.

You can give Hi Fi Lite as a partial hay replacer, you could try him with some of that. I would however persevere with the soaked hay.

Laminitis trust give out good info but cost £1 a minute
