as it will be my last hunt on saturday as i can't get the day off school to go to the closing meet (silly parents :p)
i've decided im going to brave some jumps whilst out
i've jumped one fence out hunting before but it was only small
jasmine seem fine over this and i felt like she would follow over anything
but is there any advice anyone can give me eg tips lol
my main concern is her refusing and me getting left behind
sorry about the essay :)

I would try her over some xc jumps first, chances are that if you jump into a field over something you may have to jump out, and it may be a lot bigger! Id get confident jumping on her before pushing her too much, plus its the end of the season, a lot of the horses have been jumping all season, try cubbing her next year when the jumps are smaller. :)

thanks i mainly do showjumping on her but have done xc schooling upto 2'9
she just flew over them personally i think its me because im just scared of refusing not the fact that i could have a fall lol
but when i get the buzz of hunting i think i shall just go for them i won't over do it on her tho as like you said most have been jumping all season
(:

try asking the secretary or someone else important at the meet if they know of anyone who wouldn't mind keeping an eye on you when they are jumping to make sure you don't get left behind if she does stop.
IME horses don't often stop out hunting if they've not had a bad experience and are ridden confidently - they just get carried away with the fun of following everyone else over fences!

Hopefully your horse will be thinking as u do and wont want to be left behind either! im sure all will be fine......definanatly have a go its great fun.
