Hi, I'm new here *waves*

Looking at (hopefully) getting a horse in the future after a long break from ownership, and currently share a gorgeous mare (keep working on the owner to sell her but I don't think I'll win LOL!)

Anyway - I have never been what you'd call a fearless rider and tend to get a little tense in wide open spaces, not terrified but just wary! As a result, I start tipping forward and tensing up, especially when asking a horse to come down to trot from canter. Any tips for keeping a better seat? Heels always stay down so I think the problem is more in my lower back/upper thighs tensing up?

Oh by the way, I am trying to study for exams but am constantly distracted by all these posts - so when I fail miserably I will blame every one of you! :D
