It's not that my horse Bart isn't shiny, opposite in fact, he is always getting compliments for how bright n shiny he is! He is a bright ginger chestnut, and has gained some nice dappling since coming into my care. He was quite an under weight and unhappy ex-racer before his new life. I was just wondering what everyone's tips and tricks for getting their horses to glow is? Currently Bart gets:
- Veg Oil in his feed.
- Pink Powder n Garlic
- Good haylage n worming schedule
- Plenty of exercise and some hand grazing each day
- Quick flick/wipe over at morning rug change.
- Full groom at night(Curry, dandy, wisped and then body brushed)
- Every other day(or when he sweats) he gets hot clothed with own brand Dettol or tea tree oil/coat conditioner or vinegar (One day we had a vinegar/Dettol mix and a quick misting of the tea tree/conditioner mix and a good going over with a microfibre cloth and he sparkled I think this will be our pre-show prep)
Anyone, esp. showing people got any more hints or tips? Might try some RoR classes in the new year and would love to have him glowing!
Thanks
Suzanne
