Advice?? Large hard lump on cannon bone!

Help!! What is this: a large 2inch long, 1 inch wide lump on the inside of her cannon bone BUT not her splint bone, it is hard, and has heat in it!?not lame in walk trot or canter, and not painful either, only recently appeared! What should I do!?

Surely this is still a splint, then? - my horse has one on the inside of his hindleg, as diagnosed by the vet - ie they can appear in other places.
 
Not sure, it's the biggest splint I have ever seen, everyone that's checked it out has said "wow, don't know what that is!" :/ thanks for replying anyway
 
Sounds like splint my young horse has just had one. If theres possibility of kick from another horse get it checked incase its hairline fracture.
