I have a 4 year old cob, 15.2hh, who is broken, riding and currently being schooled over jumps, both poles and x country. He is quiet, but needs plenty of work or he can be a bit jumpy, just nerves, if not worked, and a bit fresh! He is super in traffic, will ride on main roads, nothing like that bothers him. However, he needs a bit more work before I'd be happy riding him, so I want to loan him out for 6 mths. I am willing to supply feed, hay and bedding for him, but am a bit protective of him. How or where do I advertise him, he needs a confident rider to bring him on. Do such people exist that would take him on for 6 mths, or do most people want a more permenant agreement?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you want him to stay in Ireland or are you thinking of him coming over to the UK?

I'm sure there are people who would love to take him on for the winter - he sounds fun to me!

Usual places are tack shops, feed merchants, local riding schools....... if you're happy for him to come over, then I'd try HorseQuest loan section - or H&H of course!

I'm sure people would have him over winter, esp a lot of hunting pep, the horse I had last winter was on loan, I paid expenses as it was actually an arrangement that suited both parties as it meant I had another horse to hunt, and helped them thru a difficult time. As above advertise in local tack shops, and get the word out, will def help if expenses are paid as well, sounds lovely.

I agree with the above, I'm currently considering taking on a youngster to ride away for 6 months over the winter and take out and about to see some sights so there are plenty of us around.
