Looking for a livery, as my mum and dad are thinking of splitting up, not going into details, but i'd like a place where i can keep my pony and stuff etc in one place. I live in Nottinghamshire. I've got some feedback on price of some previous questions and discovered that someone pays £15 a week, which would be perfect for me, they said that that only included a stable and turnout, on a small yard, and thats what i'd like, nothing fancy such as menage, or jumps etc. Just somewhere nice:-), any idea's?

£15 sounds very cheap. I'd be budgeting for much more than that a week.

Fingers crossed you won't have to start looking.

I know, so worried. How much without straw, hay etc. My mare doesn't live in at the moment, and never has? She only has haylige in the winter when it gets to end of november time, and last year she didn't actually need rugging. What do you suggest i would need?

You could ask around for grass livery as that sounds more like what your mare is used to - grass livery doesn't usually come with any facilities such as menage or storage.
Basic DIY livery for stable and grazing is around £20 a week but can be more if the yard has good facilities. Ones near me charge £25 with menage etc. You will also need to cost in bedding - expect at least 4-5 bales of straw to get your bed started and a bale a week to maintain it unless your horse is really messy then you might need more! Straw is cheapest option at about £2 a bale.

I am in Nottingham and I pay £15 a week (works out £65 a month) for grass livery. We only have a field for schooling in but the hacking is fantastic. I love my yard and wouldn't move for the biggest, bestest floodlit arena around!

I get through about 5 or 6 bales of hay a month in the winter so about £30 a month on top of my £65 livery and he is a happy boy.

I have seen a lot of your posts recently and it seems you are going through a rough time, so I hope you manage to sort everything out. xx
