Advice needed on warm foot...

One of my horses, for two weeks now has had one warmer hoof, it's not really hot just noticeably warmer than the other and there does not seem to be any lameness.

So got farrier out to check it as it started couple days after shoeing. He came out a couple of days ago and took shoe off, no pus in any of nail holes, nails def not near white line, poss slight bruise but wasn't sure, no pain anywhere when used hoof testers, i thought it was better as it seemed only very slightly warm, but this eve i thought it seemed a bit warmer again. I just don't know what to do, i have been lightly exercising her as she is pretty fit and gets silly in the field if i rest her, i wanted to take her out to use an indoor school on mon but don't know wether to go now.

anyone any ideas, should i continue trying to rest her as much as poss? help!
 
I think you have done the sensible things, but if its still warm I would speak to vet (though they prob won't be able to tell you much by looking). Just in case there's something going on inside. My mare's arthritis of coffin joint started to show as heat in foot, and by coronet band first of all. She wasn't lame. Hope that hasn't made you more worried - its a billion times more likely to just be pus in foot etc - but worth getting checked out if still warm, as means there's something going on.
 
is it just the one hoof ?
as when a Friends pony had this the vet said it was
"often due to over feeding of high protein grains or lush pastures"
and it was she was over feeding the hard feed

hope you find out what it is , always a worry arnt they !!

also Ive herd of the hoof being hot if there is arthritis in the shoulder dont know how old yours is just a thought
 
oh no i'm worried, but thanks! the horse is only 6 by the way and has very clean legs only been lightly worked as not broken till 5year old and i did everything very slowoly and properly!

I was hoping it just a stone bruise or she wacked it rolling in the stable as she loves rolling. Do you think that would cause this?
 
Is it a specific place on the hoof that's warm? As Tilly said you've done the right things and you should probably now call your vet. My mare's injury started as a warm heel - she was hopping lame one day with a blistering hot heel, then next day was sound as a pound with a hot heel. Heel stayed hot for three weeks and she was only "iffy" in her stride. Turned out she had torn a tendon right down inside the back of her hoof, and the swelling and inflammation inside the hoof was shown as a hot heel area. NOT saying that your horse might have done a tendon, but definately get it checked out!
Don't forget the hoof is an awful place to be injured, it's solid on the outside obviously so there is nowhere for inflammation and swelling to go. It just builds up pressure and shows as heat and/or lameness.
