A mare of mine will periodically turn and pull a face to her right whilst out in the field. Its never to the left and only to the right. She does it more with her fly rug off - but has been seen to do it with her fly rug on. She'll do it whether she is out alone or in company. I would really appreciate anyones experience or comments. She has been doing it for the last couple of months - and I will phone my vets on monday for advice - but what do you all think? Am I worrying over nothing?

If only someone had a Albion 17 or 17.5" Wide fit jumping saddle for sale!

Sorry hun I really cant help you other than possibly the usual suggestions - either she is being bothered by flies or maybe has a low grade colic.

You could PM our resident vet 'Star', or ask Spaniel, she is normally very good on these matters.

Hopefully now loads of people will jump on you with their suggestions too

Does she have sensitive skin? Has she ever done it before? Does she do it when you put your right leg on when riding? Does she do it when girthing up?

Sorry I don't have any definate answers, just asking questions to see if it narrows the problem down.
