Advice needed please

Hi Guys not been on here for a while but I need a bit of advice as to which joint supplements work. I have a 16.1TB who turns 18 in Jan and I have noticed that he seems to be a bit stiffer than normal and I have also noticed that he seems to be tripping a lot more in the past week or so (although he is due shoes on Saturday so this may be the reason) I have looked into cortaflex but it is very expensive so wondered if you guys had any ideas? If the tripping continues after he has had his shoes done would you recommed i get in touch with the vet?

Obviously there are loads of supplements out there and what works for one may not work for another. I found cider vinegar added to feed helped.
I would definitely speak to my vet if it was my horse.
Just my opinion.

I use cortaflex and although the initially outlay is expensive it lasts for months as you only need 1 scoop a day after loading period so actually works out at about £12.50 per month.
