Hi everybody
One of my liveries has asked for my help selling her pony. She is a fabulous grey 14.2hh extremely well bred 7 yr old conemara but the problem is that recently she has become quite badly behaved and this is one of the reasons she is for sale. She has a super jump (ive seen her jump 1.50m) but her owner really took the p*ss and completely over jumped her- jumping her everyday and just putting the fences up and up (all of this was against the advice of both me and her instructor) and as a result the pony has become stale and is reluctant to do anything even a month off followed by afew days out hunting made no difference to her she has no interest in working and has taken to running out at fences or just refusing to jump them. She has had a full check up done so she is in the best of health she just seems to have lost all interest. I know that the pony has massive potential like i said she is an amazing jumper but im unsure of how much money to ask for her becuase she will need a bit of work before she would go competing again. Sorry this is a ridiculously long post but ive been pondering over this all morning plus the owner doesnt have an awful lot of money and i woud feel disloyal if i couldnt get the best price possible for the pony. Any ideas what i should do, how much i should be asking, etc??

Can she do any other activity like dressage etc? Maybe advertise her as a pony who needs a sympathetic handler etc and maybe re-training?

well she has done all pc activities but she was bred to jump it really is her forte!!
not sure what to do i think she should keep her and try bringing her back slowly and try to get abit more money for her then but she has decided that she wants rid of her asap because she wants to buy something new!!some people!!lol!
it would be much easier if she was a horse because i would be more likely to find an adult who would be interesting in buying a horse who needs work than a child wanting to bring on a pony. the owner is looking for 4.,00euro for her which is probabaly about 2500£ is that too much??

sounds a bit much if she won't jump! Sorry but if she won't jump, and isn't particulrly wonderful at other aspects (what height will she jump?) she isn't worth a lot at all IMO.

well im just back from watching a lesson one of the other girls took the pony she actually went really well so i think that maybe the problem lies with the rider more so than the pony. I reckon the best way to sell her would be to have someone else to show her to potential buyers since its obvious now that the pony and owner just dont click.
