Hi

I have had my horse fully clipped out today and as I've been at work my partner got him in for me but has just informed me he has put the wrong rug on instead of the fleece and medium weight rug he's put him in the fleece and light weight rug. As my partner is out and I have two kids in bed I'm worrying whether I should make a trip to the yard with them to change horses rug. He is in an American style barn which isn't too drafty.

Help I don't know what to do. Before he was clipped he was just wearing the lightweight rug by itself.

Thanks for reading

He will be fine. He's out of the draft. Usually as long as they have hay in their tummy they will keep cosy. Mine was out last night in a medium weight but should have had the heavyweight on (1'C with us), he survived fine :)

Your horse will not get too cold. It's inside so will not get wet. It's the wet that really causes horses to get cold more than anything. Your horse (with having a fleece rug on) has effectively just got it's 'hair' back in so think of it that way! :)

I have to be careful with mine as even when fully clipped I can't put too many rugs on as he hates getting too hot! I think they're better to be a little cooler as opposed to being too warm
