Advice needed re loan horse

Does anyone know the position re a loan horse when you cant get in touch with the owner. Loan agreement has expired and circumstances mean that horse needs to be returned. Do I have to advertise to see if anyone comes bac to me. Obviously I cant move him on myself
 
This is a really difficult one but one that i have heard in the past. how long has it been since you last had contact?
If i had a loan horse and couldn't keep it or couldn't get the owner i would possibly consider re-loaning the horse with a proper contract which classes you as the owner but that says the horse has to stay at the present yard where you can keep an eye on whats going on and keep track of it. I dont think that any owner turning up after a reasonable time with no contact could object to that as long as the horse was being taken care of to a good standard.

In what way have you tried to contact the owner over what period of time?
