Hi, so the long story is, horse had foot abscess around 4 week ago, he had been a fraction lame in trot and got the vet out, hey presto, abscess found but he hadn't gone severely lame as it was draining through clench hole. Hot poulticd for 8 days and dry poulticed for 2 days and all seemed fine. As well as that, around 2 weeks ago he developed lmphangitis as well and so was put on painkillers and a broad spectum antibiotic. Now on daily turn out, shoe back on abscess food and all seemed fine, except the last 2 days his abscess foot has felt a bit warmer than the others. Please someone tell me it's not another abscess and it's just due to the hoof trauma

The damage needs extra blood to deliver the building blocks to restore the injury. All injuries repairing themselves feel warm. Don't panic!
