A bit of advice is needed please

My old horse is for resale and if circumstances were different I would snap her back up but unfortunatley I cant. I dont want her past from pillar to post and would love to know that she is going to the home that she deserves. If anyone knows of anyone that she would be suitable for then please please please let me know. She needs a very experianced owner who is used to dealing with youngsters and any problems that they may come across. She is parting company with her current owners due to an accident. I cant contact the new owners direct as we dont agree on somethings (some people on here will know what I mean). I just feel that she wont represent the horse as accuratley as can be and could possibly play down her part to play in the matter. I cant put too many details on a live forum but anyone that feels they could possibly help then please contact me and I can give further infomation

I just want to do the right thing by this horse - I didnt realise till after Id sold her what a mistake Id made by doing so and by then it was too late. I just want to make sure she goes to the home she deserves.

Thanks

well if she had any sense she'd PLAY UP her part in the matter, whatever has gone on, and not put it all on the horse, surely?
she'd only be lessening her chances of selling/reducing value otherwise.

and yes i know people often have no sense

i feel for you you must feel powerless since you have no control over what happens to the horse, hey, the next buyer might be 'the one'

the fact is shes blaming previous owners (ie me and who i sold her to) for not telling her 'the truth'. However when I went to see the horse after the accident the horse was not the same as I had sold last summer. Basically it is a case of too much too soon and she has just been overloaded with work and extreme limited turnout and has just gone -WTF im not doing ANYTHING. She has started doing things she NEVER even threatned to do with me and she is just different. However the new owner is claiming she wasnt told the truth at the time of sale - which just happens to be 6 months ago and apparantly problems have been getting worse and worse. She is now selling the horse for half what she paid for it.

Your right - I just feel so helpless - Shes only 15 mins up the road from me and I cant do anything about it. I just dont want any new owners thinking its all the horses fault when it most certainly isnt

I made the decision to buy her back at the begining of the year without knowing anything of whats happened but it was just too late. Would buy her back tomorrow - its just being 5 months pregnant now it isnt possible

theres a good chance the new owner might contact you in the future, especially since the new home has only been such a short time, to see about horses history

(which is actually what im doing right now with one of my mares, ive had her a couple of years and the woman before had her several years having got her as a young horse, im now contacting the freezemark company for details)

the thing im concerned about is its my old address in the passport and I dont think the current owners will be in too much of a hurry to pass on my details - even though they have my phone number, email and home address.

I just want to know that the home she goes to is the riht one for her and that their not going to be expecting this demon horse which she isnt at all. Plus in the advert she hasnt put in the actual accident she was involved in - just that she bucks under pressure.

write to the passport company with your new address and ask them to attatch it to horse details in the event anyone wants to know?
and ask the occupants of the old address to forward you mail if you get any...

thing is, its like crimewatch...dont have nightmares...
the majority of horses in this country are adequately/well looked after and cared about, its the horrible minority that get the press. the home the horse goes to could well be lovely, and at least she will be gone from where she is now...

didnt know i could do that with the passport office - will look into that. Unfortnatly the person living in my old house is my ex and theres still a dispute going on with the house so he wont do anything

they might, they might not...worth a try though if all else fails.
blimely, my heart goes out to you, sounds like youve got a lot on your plate right now... x

i know it sounds stupid but i promised her when i bought her that she wouldnt be passed around - had to sell her due to financial and personal problems and regretted it ever since. The home I sold her to was as a hacking home and they quickly found out she is a def comp horse that needs a higher level of work so they found what they thought was th right home - now this is happening and shes being sold again. that will be 4 homes in 10 months. I never wanted this for her and will do everything i can to ensure she has the correct home. Like I said I could buy her back tomorrow but Im in no state to ride her atm and tbh with whats happened she needs taking back to basics and bringing on slowly not rushing which is whats happened. I just feel so frustrated because I am very limited in what I can do for her - she was my horse of a lifetime and I feel an obligation to do what I can. Also I just want to put forward an accurte account of what the horse is like rather than the current owners view which I feel is judgemental and clounded

Have just reread this and I sound like a complete nutter now lol
