This may be a bit of a numpty question but here goes. Would my over weight section D be ok out at night without a rug!! even if its raining. The only shelter he has is a hedgerow. He comes up in heat lumps if he gets too warm anyway so only has a lightweight on. don't want my boy to freeze to death.

How old is he? Providing he isn't an oldie then yes he will. He can move around to keep warm and that will help shift a bit of his weight

My young boy is out 24/7 without a rug and he's fine. My TB however is stabled at night as she is a delicate soul.

He's 9 and we are in the midlands. I thought that he should be ok, but i wanted to be sure. He was born and bred in wales, never had a rug on before i bought him 2 years ago, so i think i've pampered him a little bit.

yes, leave him naked! He'll be fine

It will do him good - if he gets too cold the only thing that might happen is he'll burn off some calories keeping warm

All ours are out 24/7 and they range from a fatty welsh x to a 25 yo fine TB and they are fine. Provided they are in good health and have some shelter (be it a hedge or man-made) horses will be fine. They are designed for it after all - the natural grease in their coats keeps most of the rain off.
