Advice needed

Hi all,
This is weird : Bit perplexed at the moment. Whilst out riding my gelding is behaving as if something like an electric shock is going up his nose which causes him to flinch. Sometimes it's quite violent and will seem to run down his left leg and cause him to lose his balance. This behaviour occurred 6 or 8 months ago and then disappeared after a while but now its back. Any ideas? would this constitute head shaking????

Sounds like headshaking to me hun. Maybe the changing season and colder air have triggered it again. Have you tried a nose net?

Yup - I am rapidly coming to the same conclusion. 18 months ago he had a tooth removed and was left with a sinus infection which took ages to clear up despite various antibiotics (in fact it only went when he was turned out 24/7 and had his nose down grazing which drained the sinus). I think this is linked as cold air is probably triggering the attacks.
