right basically someone i know purchased a horse at the beginning of december, it is utterly bombproof and ridden wise is just what they are after. however in the stable she is a bitch, when changing rugs she threatens to kick and has even bitten the daughter and got her in the eye. basically she is becoming dangerous on the ground and they aren't sure what to do with her.

they are complete novices and told the seller when purchasing her, and were assured she was safe in everyway (i know this as i was there)

any suggestions of what they can do?

hmmm could you not take the horse on for a while and teach it some manners for her!!?!?!?

Tiger was a bitch in the stable when I first bought him now he's as quiet as a lamb, very very easy!!! Never even puts his ears back... he just had to learn

xx

i just don't have the time or the money or petrol to keep driving to there yard (no space at mine either) i have been up a couple of times and sorted her out but within days she has resorted back to being a bitch

yes its a mare and no they didn't have it vetted (even though i told them they should) she hasn't changed in the sense she is still fantastic to ride.

could be hormonal, maybe they could try oestress to see if it is hormonal??

Not sure about people on the yard as never kept my horses there and i don't know anyone apart from them

Definately see if they can either get a behaviourist in to show them how to do the ground work, what manners are and how to instill them effectively. or 2, speak to an experienced person at their yard to help them.
