I have recently broken my young girl. I started her off in a loose ring snaffle but changed to a full cheek eggbut snaffle. She seemed to go better but now I am increasing her work she seems to be trying to evade the bit by putting her head down when asking for trot and canter. I'm wondering if a french link/lozenge would be better for her or maybe something else, any suggestions??
Thanks
Anita

I find horses which are that way inclined anyway will lean on an eggbut bit more than they do on a loose ring. It is possible to find a loose ring full cheek if that would suit her. It might be worth loaning from a bit bank to see what she goes best in.

Recently changed bits on my boy, who had similar tendencies, to a Myler comfort snaffle with a port.....expensive but worth every penny. Just bought a myler pelham to show him in and he likes that too.
