my horse half pulled his shoe off a couple of days ago...no signs of puncture wounds so i have just had him re-shod and have left him out to heal....is it bad that he isnt on box rest ? he doesnt like being in so i figured it wouldnt harm him to be mooching about outside ! I havnt bothered with a vet either as i figured if its a bruised sole all they will say is rest him ? has anyone ever experienced this and how long did it take for your horse to come sound....have a dressage test soon im mega excited about !

my boys in the same ship at the minute. though he pulled his shoe off fully during a XC comp and i didnt realise until wed finished :(

Hes not on box rest either. I figure the grass out there is nice at the minute, its not too hard and mats in a stable arent exactly sponge :/

A few eeks he should be ok. Ive heard people use arnica spray i think it is? to help with the healing?

When mine had a bruised sole, i hot tubbed with epsom salts for about a week to try and draw out the bruise. And i poulticed for about 10 days to try and cushion the sole, then put shoe back on and she seemed ok, bit "cautious" over stones for a while. but was fine
