advice on clipping

I was talking to my friend the other day who she has just bought after having him on loan for a year and she is debating having him clipped this year. Hes turned out pretty much most of the time although she says she can stable him if it's absolutely chucking it down and hes rugged up. Last spring he got rainscald although he was rugged but thats healed up now although still a concern and is ridden 3 times a week for 45 mins to an hour. Last year his coat was so think he was getting quite sweaty and it was hard to dry him off and turn him out again and he seems to drop weight too. But is this because he was damp and getting cold??

soooooooooooooooooooooooo... to clip or not to clip. Obviously only a bib clip or something, but any ideas???

I would go for a clip, they loose so much condition etc if they sweat up and get a little chilled. TBH I would probably go for a trace. You can always go for a low trace.

i had the same thing last year.
i gave my horse a chaser clip, but this year i am going to get a trace clip
