basically my mare is not very good to clip, she's been done every years (full or blanket) but is a bit of a pain (even sedated) and it normally takes ages over a few days to get her all done
she's good with her face and neck and top part of her body, but is very sensitive/ticklish under her belly and legs (both front and back)
so, this year to reduce the stress (both hers and mine!) I decided to go for something a bit different to avoid some of the tricky bits.
By far her most sweaty part is her neck so I thought of doing a mix between a blanket and a chaser, so she has the whole neck of but not her back legs and less belly.
do you think she would look silly? (we competes in dressage)
has anyone done this type of clip, can you post a photo please?
thanks

Mines sensitive to clip though she is getting better. I do an Irish chaser( I think that's what its called) but I don't go all the way underneath. I just do a diagnol line from behind the ears to behind the girth or as far back as I can get under her belly. This year I may try a trace clip though so I might start my chaser a bit lower and see how we go so Ivan convert it to a chaser if needs be:)

I usually make up my clip as I go along, mainly because I can't stick to my lines! Last year i did one that took off nearly all the neck, went halfway across the shoulder in a slightly curvy line, went through the point where the girth meets the saddle, and ended up finishing just in front of his sheath (at which point even he was getting ticklish!) no pics I'm afraid but it looked fine- I did this as he only tends to sweat on his neck and between his front legs, and although he's generally an angel to clip, why take off more than you need to? (plus I was short of time!)

Yes I did this clipart winter. Started worth Irish/chaser but couldn't get clean line around top of next/ face so as she is hogged (i hat it but long story) I just took all her neck off in the end. Unfortunately she got all fed up and jumpy and I trimmed a little further back than I would have liked but apart from that it looked fine and suited her perfectly! :-)
