heya went out cubbing tonight on my TB mare who i've hunted 3 times intotal but mainly when she was a four year old, back then she used to rear at the cover & before ditches. tonight she was so good i was so so happy but at the last ditch on the way home she reared & started spinning so i circled & reaproached but she fell flat on her face resulting on me getting off mid ditch! & looking a bit silly! if i can just sort out her impactience at ditches & jumps she would be awsome but getting her to concentrate at the ditch & do it properly ( she jumps all ditches perfectly at home!) is so hard as she is typical TB & is stressing at everyone leaving :( has anyone had this promblem & any ideas to help this?

i would suggest that you try to get up near the front when there's a ditch coming up and see if you can jump it with one of the first 2 or 3 over it, at least until she gets her confidence up about not being left behind!

You dont alway have to jump the ditch in exactly the same place if there is a space to cross alongside where the master is crossing you could go there that way you would not have to queue and you could just turn and go. Sometimes having horses that are not experinced at jumping ditches and the waiting in front, causes more trouble for you then just picking your own line. Just make sure you end up in the same field!!
