Sol needs a new saddle now she has been backed etc and is starting proper work . ATM she has a wintec close contact saddle witch is fine but she can't compete dressage in .

So should I buy her a dressage saddle or a normal gp as I would keep her wintec too ???
Oh and is 17.5'' etc the seat size or the length of the saddle flaps and i've had conflicting opinions
Thanks as always

PS . can anyone reccomend me a nice saddle gp or dressage for a slim 4YO ISH ??

I'd go for a dressage saddle if you're keeping your old one.

Then it really depends what you want to spend. At the cheaper end I like the Ideal Jessica saddles, if you've more than £1k to spend then look at the Albion and Passier ones.

But it really depends what sort of feel you like. Deep or shallow seat, wide or narrow twist, big or small knee rolls etc. etc. And on your horse's conformation. I'd recommend getting a saddler out and trying a few before making a decision.

17.5ins is the length of the seat.
