Hello,
Looking for a bit of advice from you lovely horsey peeps please!
My mare was hooning around the field at tea time last night so the yard owner brought her in for me. I got on and rode as normal and she felt fine in walk, trott and canter on the right rein, and walk and trott on the left rein. However she was hollow in the transition to left canter, and then she remained hollow, was stuffy, and relcutant to bend on the circle. I thought this was odd and tried to canter again, and she was obviously in pain.
Popped her on the lunge to confirm and she was fine in all gaits except left canter, where she was bunched up and clearly uncomforable.
So have decided to rest her, but unsure for how long? suppose i just want to know what you lot would do, a whole week off, or a few days and then watch her on the lunge again? Does this sound like a particular type of injury? There is no heat or swelling in her legs, they all seem normal. Sounds like something is a miss in her left hind?
Looking forward to hearing from you, thank you
