hi everyone!
just a quickie question.... i plan to take my yearling out to the spring shows.... should she have a coloured browband or stick to the plain one that will be on the bridle?

(she's my first appy and not entirely sure as iv seen both but wanted to know which one was more correct if thats the case!)

thanks in advance!

I show my girly in a plain one, mainly as due to her facial markings/colouring its pretty damn difficult to get a coloured browband that compliments her!!

Good Luck with the showing

I think it depends on the type of class you are doing. If its youngstock classes then it can either be plain or coloured and she should be plaited but if its appaloosa showing then the classes I saw last year was western dress for the handlers and plain bridle. Good luck may be worth asking on spotties.com and see what response you get on there.

hi i took my yrling spotty to a few shows last yr we did really well got reserve champion at 1 from the coloured sport horse 3yr and under in hand, he wore a green, gold and white browband with an inhand bridle and he was all plaited up, i wish you the very best of luck with your spotty chap x

Hi....
I showed my Appy 'Freckles'' a lot when I lived in the UK.... no appy shows here in spain :-(
I always used a plain browband so not to distract from the spots, but it really depends on what classes you are going to do...

but one rule, if you show english then you and the horse should be dressed english... and if you show western, again you both dress western, though not a lot of judges will know what a western duo should be dressed like, but is fun if you like ''bling'' (ive done both)

Join (its free) www.spotties.org.uk you will get lots of friendly advise on there...
though for some reason I cant get on at the moment (but it has had a few glitches)
