I am thinking of getting a small lorry - at the moment I travel to shows 2-3 times a month, normally only taking one horse and am mostly happy using a trailer, although I hate reversing it out of (or into) tight spaces. But the car is getting old and will need replacing soon anyway and the trailer has seen better days too.
So I have started thinking, would I be better off buying a smaller car and replacing the trailer with a 2 horse lorry? What would I look for, what are the pitfalls. Do people like the 'small' small 3.5 versions? My horse is 16.1 and if I travelled two, they would be similar height, so the very small worry me. Are the 7.5 lorries easy to drive?
What are the pitfalls -what are the options, how do you choose? If we went this route, it would be on a budget, what are the running costs like?
