Advice on low salt diet please?

Vets have put Tassy on a special low salt diet I'm not sure the brand- not seen it in the shops but its supposed to help the kidneys and liver. We have three problems- it makes her fart like you can't imagine! its expensive £22 for 2.5kg!!! (she gets 345grms per day so lasts 5-6 days) and this is not covered on the insurance- vets have said she needs to be on it for life!
She was previously on fishmongers Salmon and potato (no cereal content at all 60% salmon)

This new food's main ingredient is cereal.... are there any better alternatives?

I would get hold of a canine nutrionist.

Sorry but after soo much conflicting advice from two vets at the practice I use I don't trust them wholly. (one said my dog needed grain and carbohydrates, the other said raw is good if you can do it, and he only said it because he feeds raw).
