I am about to start riding lessons again after 10 years (I only reached rising trot the first time so a total beginner) and have no idea on which brand to go for in terms of riding boots. I had bought a lovely pair of long leather boots from Equestrian Clearance for about £85 but unfortunately they are too long and I cannot bend my knees in them so I am returning them. Can you give me some advice on the best brands in terms of being affordable, lasting a long time if well cared for and comfort please? I would prefer long boots but am open to jodhpur boots/chaps if they are comfy and look nice. For now I don't want to spend more than £100 if possible.

Thanks

As a beginner you will probably find a pair of short boots and chaps are more comfortable and practical, long boots if good quality will take time to wear in and the better ones are well over your budget, the cheaper options are not going to be as nice to wear. Wait until you really get going before you invest in a pair of long boots, short boots and chaps really are comfy and smart, most pro riders will use them as their every day boots.

Ok, thanks. This is what my friends who have/had horses advised. Which brand would you recommend especially in terms of the chaps??

measure the height of your calves - I have short calves so I had to go for fuller fillies ones which do shorter ones.
