Hi all,
I am hoping for some advice from anyone who might have done this.

I have a saddle for sale and have been contacted by a lady who lives a long way from me - literally the other end of the country. She has asked if I can send it to her (she will pay postage) and if she can return it if it doesn't fit.

However, I am wary of sending my saddle off to someone I don't know!

What is the usual procedure for paying for something like this? I certainly don't want to let my saddle go such a long way without any money first? Or am I being distrustful?

I've sold three saddles now on ebay and not had a bit of bother with any of them BUT I personally would not send anything as valuable as a saddle any disctance without full payment!

there are genuine people out there but unfortuately just as many scammers.
proceed with caution would be my advice fwiw

thanks for being the voice of reason gang! it was the way I was feeling about it, but I am sometimes just too nice!! It is far to valuable to me to risk it!

Agree never send until you have had the payment, I have sold a few but local so they picked them up, one lady wanted to try the saddle before she paid so I drove to her horse with it for her to try would never let a stranger take it.
