Sandro Hit apparently could not jump- although bred to be an international showjumper, with a superb dam/sire and generations of jumping lines, he had no power there when jumping although he made a nice shape. So he was then produced for dressage, and seems to have produced ONLY dressage horses, no jumpers.
So my question is, does the fact that sandro hit himself could not jump, does it mean that it is unlikely that his offspring are good jumpers? Surely it was just a one-off that S.H couldnt jump, because he still has the genes there,so is there still every chance that the 'good' jumping genes could be passed onto the next generations?
The reason why I ask is because I would like to use a son of Sandro Hit to sire an event horse. The man himself has been produced for dressage, but they say is a fantastic jumper, BUT there is a picture of him jumping on his stud card with dangling legs
His dam side has international TB/WB eventing bloodlines. I really want to use this stallion because I want the fab movement in the offspring, but am a bit concerned about a 'non-jumper' being produced...or am I just having irrational fears? The mare I am hoping to use with him is a fab jumper with a really super technique..
