My mum is currently dog sitting a little terrier (because she likes to have a dog around not for money or as a prefession!) she told me last night that when she puts the dogs food down he kind of picks at it a bit then gets a bit "upset" and can sometimes vomit! I said it sounds like he is on the wrong food and it may be an idea to try him on bland foods, like chicken and rice, for a few days to see if this improves, or to get him some sensitive stomach feed, is this right?

He will be going back to his owners in a few days so she will have to talk to them about his feeding when she hands him over.

Many thanks
:)

Did his owners mention this when they handed him over,if it was a normal behaviour for him I would have thought they would. Is he eating his food very fast, Evie used to gulp her food down and then regurgitate it. I stopped her doing it by putting a large rock in her bowl to slow her down. If he eats normally, have the owner left a contact for their vet, might be worth a call to them just to see if it has happened before.

Apparently when he is fed he looks at the food a bit, picks a small amount up, walks around, eats a bit and then gets a bit "worried looking". So no he is not eating too fast, his owners seem to be a bit blasé about the dog full stop, mum looked after him when he was castrated etc, and i believe them to be first time dog owners so probably would not know what is "normal" and what is not. Mum has the authority to take him to see her vet if the need arises. Do dogs get Ulcers?

Thanks for the reply :)
