I am loaning a cob who has thrush every winter. This will be my first winter with her and l would be greatful for any ideas/advice on how to hopefully avoid thrush this winter.

Grrr! I just typed a big fat reply on my phone, then lost it! :/
So here are my recommended products:
Milton disinfectant - dilute & put in a little spray bottle & spray every night after picking feet out.
Red Horse Products - 'Field Paste' - slap on soles & frog before turnout
- 'hoof stuff' for any thrushy nooks & crannies.
Sudocrem is also fab for soles.
Keep bed as dry as possible.

If it's BAD thrush, there are stronger things like Cleantrax & White Lightening, but hopefully you won't need those :)

Terramycin (sp?) spray from the vets, its used to treat foot rot in sheep and cattle and is fab stuff for thrush. Team that once or twice a week with Pevidine (sp?) which is stronger than hibiscrub, dilute with water and using a water brush brush liberally the foot especially the clefts, couple of times a week. Make the solution up and leave in bucket with cover on, just stir before using again.
Also use a hoofpick with one of those brushes on the other side and use to get rid of every scrap of dirt before treating as above.
Had a horse who suffered even in the summer and the above regime worked great.

I am going to try Terramycin spray on mud fever. I use it on cattle, sheep and dogs to cure all manner of ills. The only down side is its green or blue. Anyway I am replying to say its also known as alamycin, cyclospray and various others but it is great stuff and I second pidgeons suggestion to try it :D

Can I suggest prevention better than cure....bedding change needed. Has to be dry dry dry!

My boy had thrush before i got him, never had it since (6th year) & i'm still fighting the insurance company re removing the exclusion even with a full vet report!

I bet he gets it again now....he is living out for the 1st time since i've had him so 'pastures new' literally.

Good luck x
