I'm fairly experienced with hoof boots as both my horses have been barefoot for years. One that has been in regular work wears Renegades. The other has been until recently semi-retired so totally barefoot but now has come back in to full work so I bought her a set of Renegades too. They are fine on the front but sadly no use at all on the hinds as she has a twisting motion to her hind movement as she pushes off from the ground and the boots were spinning round backwards in just a few minutes. I remember now that when she wore shoes she would wear through the outside branch of the hinds in 4 weeks that's one of the reasons I went barefoot in the first place.
I have tried her hind feet in Cavallo boots and they fit and stay in place but they are no good to me as she has worn out a pair through the toes in 3 months where the Renegades on the front look almost as good as new. Also Cavallos are no good for winter because they are so heavy in the wet.
Can anyone recommend a performance boot that will withstand this twisting motion?
