Myself and my ginger beastie will hopefully be hunting next saturday with the Tanatside if the weather is kind and all limbs human and horse are intact. Neither of us have hunted before, so I'll be armed with my green ribbon and airbrakes! We've been trying to get out all season but between the weather, work commitments and living over an hour from the nearest mounted hunt it's been a bit of a challenge.

It's quite a few years since I've done anything with a horse that's required me to be smart! I have a nice brown hacking jacket, shirt, tie and beige jods, but what I lack is a pair of long black leather boots that fit me.

So, do I wear my quite-smart-when-polished-up dark brown long boots (which have laces at the top), or black jod boots and black suede chaps? What do people think would be the most appropriate or would either do?

I regularily hunt with the Tanatside - as long as your'e clean and tidy they won't mind at all which boots, so I would wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Everyone is very friendly and you will have no problems finding people to chat with/look after you - I would offer to do it myself but have no childcare for that Sat so going out on Tues instead.
Have fun in our glorious country!
