My dog is going in for day surgery tomorrow to have a cyst removed from his neck and a papilloma from his haunches. I had naturally thought that I would use a "lampshade" to stop him scratching at his neck wound and chewing on the wound on his haunch, however my brain has finally caught up and due to the site of the cyst he can't have a collar on, let alone a lampshade!!

What can I do instead?

I look after lots of dogs that come back from the vets with stitches all over the show, I very rarely need to use a lampshade/collar of any kind. I'd keep an eye on him and see if it's actually necessary first. A scarf or t shirt can sometimes help for wounds in odd places too.
