Advice please - Dog coughing

Hi

My 6 year old GSD has had a cough for a few of weeks - she may cough perhaps once a day and will cough perhaps 2/4 times in the one incident. The cough is intermittant and sometmes she wont cough for a couple of days.

My other dog has not coughed at all and both are up to date to their vacs. She has not shown signs of being in discomfort, pain or even being off colour and she doesn't cough after being walked or hacking out.

My horse is kept next door to boarding kennels and when my dog coughed for the first time I did check to see of there had been any reports of kenel cough which there hasn't.

So any advice please.

My jrt has coughs like yours and intermittent, I don't worry about it.
But if you are really worrying about it then go and have doggy checked out tomorrow.

i think I would take the dog to the vet. he may be starting kennel cough or may have something in his throat. I think it is always wise to go to the vet if you are unsure or worried.
Hope all is OK.

I would also get her checked, other than kennel cough, coughing may also be a symptom of a heart condition, amongst other things.......I would deffo get her checked if it carried on.

If I had a dog which had an intermittent cough which had been going on for a few weeks, I would be taking for a check up.
