My horse has had his first attack of Laminitis this spring. He is back in work and thankfully on the mend. For about 3 years he has been on haylage, since his Laminitis he is on soaked hay. He is a nice weight now is only grazing about 6 hours a day in every night. My problem now is, my supplier is running out of hay. He has asked if i can go on haylage. Don't know what to do. He has had a cough twice since on the hay so from that point of view, haylage would be better. But i'm worried about the laminitis. What would you advise? Thanks for taking the time to read.
