I have a 4yr old gelding who is lame and has swelling in his hock. Vets have done X-rays and a joint tap but haven't yet found anything so are presuming it is a sprain for now. He's having a steroid injection into the joint followed by 3 wks field rest. Does any one have any experience with this, did the injection work, did the horse remain sound or did it just mask an underlying problem. Vets have said that if this doesn't work he will be send for further investigation. Any experiences good/ bad would be good to know about. Thanks
