A neighbour has asked if he can put his horse in my field when it comes back from the vet hospital. It is being treated for Cellulitis I'm concerned as to whether it is contagious as I have two horses in the next field, and I will be using the field he wishes to borrow in summer.

Can anyone advise me? Thanks.

In humans it is considered a risk for the first 48 hours of IV antibiotics, after that not.

My elderly horse suffered from it a month back and no-one else caught it.

Not infectious / contagious as far as I'm aware. When my old boy had it bad we weren't told to isolate him etc, and he exercised during the day where all the others would also go. I can't see a problem, but if you are concerned ask the vet for their advice.
