My old mare, a successful ex-showjumper, had mild arthritis in her front legs, and a livery pony we had at the time had mild arthritis like your horse. Our vet was very helpful in helping to arrange a regime of firstly rhus tox (homeopathatic) and then later danilon along with food supplements, and both animals hacked gently, and thoroughly enjoyed it, for some years. I'd forget the jumping and the schooling though. The vet said it helped hugely that they were kept out year round (with shelter and very good rugs) so that they were always on the move and didn't stiffen up. It's not the end of the world, so don't despair - just adapt, and watch what your horse's symptoms are telling you, and if they change.
